Pre Flipping Out.
There are at least 14 people who are planning on being here when/after the babies are born. Everyone is coming from far away, so there’s no dropping by here and there in shifts. I really want some time to recover and spend time on our own with the babies before the visiting starts. I don’t think that’s going to happen. I am having a hard time with it.
Please enjoy this two week hiatus from pregnancy...
God I love the Olympics!!
That moment when you think you're texting your...
The important thing though is that I am officially done with work. BAM. Now what do I do with myself? There will be much Olympic watching, of course, but if you have any good book/movie/tv suggestions could you pass them along? I like to read. Voraciously. I’m not picky about what type of book I read…as long as it’s good. Help! ?
It’s fitting that on what is presumably my last day of work, it takes me almost 2 hours to get here. Then I’m so late that I have to park at the far end of the lot. Then I get to my office and realize I forgot my iced tea in the car. Going out with a bang!
My crotch has the hiccups. So does my belly...
Waiting until I get them so I can complete the trifecta.
Science needs you!
My friend Jenny studies air quality for Lawrence Berkley National Labs. Here are some important things about Jenny: 1. She is a master at disguising wine. When we used to go watch our respective trophy boyfriends play hockey, she would sneak in booze like a champ. Her main trick: to go coffee cups. 2. She is at an Olympic level in the following sport(s): Sarcasm. 3. She’s a smarty-farty...
Schedule for the day:
1. Do a little work 2. Look at pretty naked sporty people in the ESPN body thingy. (I think the golfer is the sexiest. Never thought that sentence would ever come out of my fingers.) 3. Repeat.
My comebacks are getting less witty. (they were...
“You’d better sleep while you can!” “Get herpes.” *extreme grump caused by insomnia and yes, I KNOW it’s going to be worse when they get here, but averaging 1.5-3 hrs of sleep per night before they’re here sucks too.
It took me three hours to fall asleep.
An hour after that, our upstairs neighbor started playing video games. our walls are shaking with the sounds of gunfire. Am re-wide awake and very unhappy.
Things I am:
Utterly fucking exhausted. Wide awake. Gumpy as all fucking get out.
Yesterday, my doctor told me that it’s time to start slowing down and that I can only go into the office a couple of days a week. My boss is awesome enough that she’s letting me work the other time from home so that I’m still bringing in my full-time salary. Today is my first home day. I cannot begin to describe how much less stress I feel being able to take it easy. I...
I like dogs.
I do not like dog owners who continually let their dogs shit on our front sidewalk and do not clean it up. I do not know how to deal with the situation practically, but I do not want to be responsible for cleaning up someone else’s dog’s poop, and I do not want to have to be constantly making sure I’m not stepping in it when all I want to do is go in my front door. I also have a...
